Little Handprints
Almost everyone has handprints of art and crafts at home. That is a great activity for parents.
It is great for family activities. Especially, when your child is little. you can paint on those little hands and tickle those little fingers and wash those little hands after painting. What a wonderful parents and kid bonding time.
The handprint poem I found online:
You always clean the fingerprints
I leave upon the wall.
I seem to make a mess of things
Because I am so small.
The years will pass so quickly.
I'll soon be grown like you
And all my little fingerprints
Will surely fade from view.
So here's a special handprint,
A memory that is true
So you'll recall the very day

I have some questions for you as a teacher.
Do you make the handprints picture just because you find them on the internet? Do you want to keep it simple and just print your student's hand and print out a poem for the mother's day activity? Do you enjoy washing those little hands? or it is because someone will wash their hands for you in class?
There are more art ideas for teachers other than making a handprint in class. Do you really need to do a handprint picture in class?
If you are not doing the sensory play, do you really want to make an artwork with the student's handprints on it?
